Kevin Austin founded the Aero Law Group in 2000 after an extensive career in Aviation and Law with Cooley Godward LLP in Palo Alto, California and the Boeing Company in Seattle, Washington.
Kevin represents numerous clients in domestic and international transactions involving the sale, lease and exchange of commercial and executive aircraft (from Cessnas to 747s) including the acquisition of the first-ever Boeing Business Jet. He also represents investment bankers in their aircraft and airline investments and has worked with emerging and established commercial airlines in equity, debt and lease financings. He also has experience in the application of the bribery provisions of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
Kevin received his J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1993. He attended the University of Washington and received a B.A. in business administration (accounting) from Seattle University in 1980.
Kevin is a member of the state bars of California, Colorado and Washington, the American Bar Association – Forum on Air and Space Law and Aircraft Financing Subcommittee, and the National Business Aviation Association.
Kevin, a former four-time American Power Boat Association National Champion, has retired from hydroplane and jet-boat racing and now spends his spare time with his wife, Alicia, cruising the historic canals of Europe and the waters of Puget Sound.
