Ryan Nichols joined the Aero Law Group in 2017. His practice includes representing and advising clients in the purchase, sale, lease, exchange, financing, and operation of business and commercial aircraft, including fractional shares in aircraft. Ryan also advises clients on FAA-regulatory, federal income tax, federal excise tax, state sales and use tax, personal use, insurance, and risk-management issues.
Prior to joining the firm, Ryan was Corporate Counsel and principal transactional attorney for Rightside Group, Ltd. and lead attorney responsible for the second largest domain name registrar business in the world. He also served as Corporate Counsel and principal transactional attorney for Demand Media, Inc. and lead attorney responsible for two leading Software as a Service (SaaS) products. Ryan was also integral in the tax-free spin-off of Demand Media’s domain name services business into its own independent, publicly traded company.
Ryan holds a Juris Doctor degree from Seattle University School of Law, where he received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Legal Writing II while the law school’s legal writing program was ranked number one in the United States, and dual Bachelor’s degrees in both Economics and Political Science from the University of Washington. He is also currently pursuing his Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Washington School of Law.
Ryan is a member of the state bar of Washington and a Fellow of the World Affairs Council.
A fitness enthusiast, Ryan enjoys hiking, running, lifting weights, playing golf, and various other outdoor activities.
