Nate Pietila has been with Aero Law Group PC since 2005. He represents clients in the purchase, sale, lease, financing and exchange of business aircraft. Focusing on end-user owners and operators, Nate advises his clients on FAA-regulatory, federal income tax, federal excise tax, state sales and use tax, personal use, insurance and risk-management issues.
Prior to joining the firm, Nate was an associate attorney at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP in Orange County, California, for four years, where he practiced in the Corporate Transactions and Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring practice groups. He represented companies from the biotechnology, chemical, electronics manufacturing and retail sectors in various restructuring matters. He also represented clients in connection with federal securities matters, mergers and acquisitions, and secured financings.
Nate earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2000. He graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Philosophy and a minor in Management Science from the University of California, San Diego, in 1997.
Resident in the firm’s Newport Beach, California, office, Nate is admitted to practice law in both California and Washington. He is also an FAA-certificated commercial pilot, with instrument, single-engine and multi-engine ratings.
Nate enjoys regular visits to Aero Law Group’s Seattle-area offices, and traveling to business-aviation events around the world (NBAA-BACE, EBACE, JetNetIQ, Corporate Jet Investor, etc.). He and his family also enjoy spending time in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where he spent many summers growing up.
