Ryan Nichols joined the Aero Law Group in 2017. His practice is devoted to representing and advising clients in all aspects of the purchase, sale, lease, financing, and operation of business and commercial aircraft (including fractional shares in aircraft).
Prior to joining Aero Law Group, Ryan gained a wealth of experience serving as in-house counsel at public companies. At Rightside Group, Ltd. (NASDAQ: NAME), he served as principal transactional attorney, lead attorney responsible for the second largest domain name registrar business in the world, and was responsible for advising Rightside’s executives and business units on a wide variety of matters, including intellectual property, data privacy/security, compliance, contractual relationship, sales, marketing, and employment related matters. At Demand Media, Inc. (NYSE: DMD), Ryan served as principal transactional attorney and lead attorney responsible for two leading Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings. He was integral in the tax-free spin-off of Demand Media’s domain name services business into its own independent, publicly traded company.
Ryan holds a Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.) from the University of Washington School of Law; a Juris Doctor degree from Seattle University School of Law, where he completed focus areas in Business Law, Intellectual Property Law, and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Legal Writing II; and dual Bachelor’s degrees in both Economics and Political Science from the University of Washington where he was a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, the international economics honor society.
Ryan is admitted to practice in Washington.
A fitness and outdoor enthusiast, Ryan enjoys hiking, running, lifting weights, playing golf, fishing, and various other outdoor activities.
